“Through an intimate and artistic lens, Milk brings a universal perspective on the politics, commercialization and controversies surrounding birth and infant feeding over the canvas of stunningly beautiful visuals and poignant voices from around the globe.”

Along with the Toronto Birth Centre and the Ocama Collective, SafelyFed Canada is presenting a free screening of Milk followed by a 90 minute for professionals who work with families.

The workshop will be of interest to midwives, nurses, physicians and lactation consultants, as well as doulas, early childhood educators and social services providers. A certificate of attendance will provided for those attending the workshop.

Topics include:

– Skills for emergency breastfeeding support

– Remediation of lactation problems during response & recovery

– Practical advocacy for IYCF-E preparedness & response: donations

– How industry influence makes your job harder and less effective

– Identify how you and your organization are targeted for influence

– Practical steps to address conflict of interest and improve care
